Totally post-spamming today.

I heard this song on the radio a little while ago and was captivated by the first verse. Since then, I’ve discovered that the chorus reminds me of another song or a children’s lullaby (particularly Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, but I don’t think it actually matches that one), which kind of annoys me. Still, there is something entrancing about this song for me.

Mikeschair – Someone Worth Dying For

You might be the wife,
Waiting up at night
You might be the man,
Struggling to provide
Feeling like it’s hopeless

Maybe you’re the son,
Who chose a broken road
Maybe you’re the girl,
Thinking you’ll end up alone
Praying God can you hear me?
Oh God are you listening?

Am I more than flesh and bone?
Am I really something beautiful?
Yeah, I wanna believe, I wanna believe that
I’m not just some wandering soul
That you don’t see and you don’t know
Yeah I wanna believe, Jesus help me believe that I
Am someone worth dying for

I know you’ve heard the truth that God has set you free
But you think you’re the one that grace could never reach
So you just keep asking, what everybody’s asking

You’re worth it, you can’t earn it
Yeah the Cross has proven
That you’re sacred and blameless
Your life has purpose

You are more than flesh and bone
Can’t you see you’re something beautiful
Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe
He wants you to see, He wants you to see
That you’re not just some wandering soul
That can’t be seen and can’t be known
Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe that you
Are someone worth dying for

You’re someone worth dying for
You’re someone worth dying for

There is also something beautiful about the music video.  Despite the “theologically correct” comments, which in my opinion missed the intent of the song, I find the video very touching.

Letting the sounds soak in now…

My friend Daniel sent me this beautiful video.  It’s soooo cute > <  I almost cried at the end T__T

I love his expression when she comes back the second day XD  (Does that kind of thing really happen, though?)  Even simple things can be romantic.  I think this would be a super cute way to meet someone.

My parents and I went to a sushi place to have lunch yesterday, just for fun :D

Because of that, I remembered this video that I saw a long time ago.  I like to go back and watch it every once and a while, because it makes me laugh XD  Since it’s so funny and amazing, I wanted to share it with you.  Enjoy :P

This past weekend, my friend Tiffy visited from out of town, which was a lot of fun :)  We had lots of needed GIRL TALK XD  And of course, we wandered around an outdoor mall and went shopping.  (Your typical girl date :P )  Somehow, we ended up spending 3 hours at like 2 places > <  But anyways…

We had dinner with some of our friends that she hadn’t seen in a while (actually, I haven’t seen them either D:  Because everybody’s too busy for everybody else… or maybe I’m just too busy QQ).  On the way, Tiffy and I realized we haven’t been to so many places despite having lived here for for a few years.  There was a pretty little strip of land across the river/lake with benches that seemed like it would be a nice place to read, stroll, or watch the sunset :3  We also saw a couple taking wedding pictures on a little dock.  The dinner was at a trailer called The Mighty Cone.  It was basically fried food with some lettuce and sauce wrapped up in a tortilla and put into a paper cone.  The food was really good, though, and we also got some chili-dusted fries.  I can’t eat spicy food well, so it was a little spicy for me, but overall it was delicious and well worth a trip :)

Then we had an impromptu house warming party at one of our friend’s “newly” bought and renovated condo, which was gorgeous.  (He bought it like a year+ ago but just recently finished remodeling it, and most of us hadn’t seen it before.)  He also took us to the top of a nearby parking garage, which overlooked a lot of the city — we could see the lake, the hill(s?), the skyline, and radio towers XD  Apparently, during July 4, you can see a bunch of different fireworks all over the city.  It would be very pretty to see :)

We decided to watch a movie then, and we went back to my place (since my friend doesn’t have a TV) and Tiffy showed us a few things, which I have provided here for your entertainment :3

How Asian Women Age

For the movie, we ended up watching this dramatic Japanese movie referred to as an X-Men crossover with Romeo & Juliet.  It was unfortunately dubbed, but that just made it more ridiculous than dramatic XD;;  The movie was called Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, and apparently based on a true story and similar to a manga/anime called Basilisk.  Don’t ask me what it was about though, I was pretty tired so I ended up sleeping through almost all of it.  They said that I didn’t miss anything though >__<;;

All in all, it was a lovely weekend, and so much fun, as it always is with her~ <3

I’m the kind of person that is easily stressed out, and a lot of little things can build up very quickly and make me upset. Sometimes I feel like this:

“Ragequit” is probably the appropriate term for that.

For instance, if some project I’m working on at work/school isn’t going (smoothly or otherwise) for what seems like a stupid and non-project related reason, and anyone working on something similar is not experiencing those problems and/or is being really unhelpful and uncaring, and I can’t get this particular necessary website to load, and my apartment is cold, and my bills are high for no explicable reason, and my car is acting weird, and my skin is feeling dry, and I don’t know what to do about my future, and people are being unhelpful and uncommunicative, and I don’t have the right muffin pan liners, and the store ran out of the thing that I wanted, and–

Well, it’s a lot of little things. Toothpicks, if you will, pricking you until you’re just too frustrated to go on.

In those cases, like everyone else, I have some things that help me to relax a bit. A lot of times, music does it for me. I’ve recently found some nice calm songs that I like to listen to, so I just felt like posting them here ^^ (Hm, this post was supposed to be mostly about those songs, but it seems like I wrote mostly about ragequitting. Oops XD;;…)

The first song is one that I actually never really liked before, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” I started listening to it because there was a reference to it in a KDrama I was watching. Originally, I had wanted to find this one version that I heard a long time ago, sung by a man with a very deep voice, but I couldn’t quite find that one. I did, however, find this very nice and calming version by Israel Kamakawiwo`ole from Hawaii.  I feel like it’s actually a mix of two songs, but I can’t remember what the second one is called, and there’s no reference to it on the video. Oh well, I really like this version (as opposed to Israel’s straight “Over the Rainbow,” because that one has other sounds in it).

Another song is one that I actually didn’t care much for before, either.  (I think that’s a trend in my life, but I’ll save that topic for later.)  I was introduced to this song by my friend Daniel, but I never really listened to it until recently… probably because I saw that NICHKHUN had played it.  So of course, I was sucked in.  (If you don’t know who Nichkhun is, you’ve been missing out!  XP)

Oh, right.  The song.  Sorry, that happens sometimes (I get distracted).  So the song is Yiruma’s “Kiss the Rain,” which is just really pretty and somewhat melancholic but also very calming.  This is the one I usually listen to, and it has pretty flower pictures to go with :)

(Oh and if you’re curious, Nichkhun’s version is here.  I don’t like to listen to that one though, because it gets really static-y halfway through.)

Yiruma has a lot of really pretty songs, but “Kiss the Rain” is probably my favorite.  You can check out his other songs on the sidebar if you go to the YouTube page for the video.

There is also an artist, Lisa, that I recently rediscovered, and she is amazing.  She has a beautiful voice and a very friendly, warm feeling, AND she writes/composes all of her own songs in English or Japanese.  I think I’ll make an intro post about her sometime, but in lieu of that, I’ll give you a preview with one of the songs I sometimes like to listen to in order to feel calmer.  The song is called “You Don’t Know.”  Please check out her other songs as well!

Now that I’m all nice and calm, I suppose I shall end the post here XD;

Enjoy and have a beautiful day!

Okay. This video, despite it being utterly ridiculous, is actually pretty true.

1: Anytime the guy tells the truth about anything to his girl, he’ll probably get in trouble. Because guys are dumb like that sometimes XP

2: Girls like doctors.

3: Girls like guys who can cook. And it’d be cool if they are interested in culture and art, along with cooking.

4: Delivery pizza and $0.50 burritos are NOT good date foods. At least, not in the beginning, and not until you’re sure she likes those foods. (But girls can like those things too >__< I like pizza and burritos… but not for a first date kind of thing.)

5: Girls do care a lot about thought and effort. But personally, I think the final product is pretty important, too.

6: "I just finished cooking. I apologize for the mess, but it's because I wanted to make it special… because you're a special girl." If you say this, then YES, SHE WILL BE GOOGLY-EYED. XD;;;

Recently, a few of my friends had a very brief, impromptu conversation consisting primarily song titles. It went something like this:

R: I just want to know girl where u at.

C: Girl’s reply: Go Away.

That sort of got me thinking that it would be fun to randomly have that kind of conversation — that is, a conversation with only song titles.  I wonder how far we could get doing that XD;;  (Probably not very far, unless both/all sides have a good knowledge of song titles.)

Similarly, one of my friends and I sometimes like to have emoticon-only conversations.  It kind of works because we know each other fairly well, but it’s pretty hard to always convey what you mean, so our conversations are usually pretty simple.  They go something like this:

Pretty long way to have a conversation, I know >__<;;  But it’s fun, and sometimes it’s hard to guess what the other person is trying to say.  I guess it works better if the two of you are on closer wavelengths?  By the way, the emoticons we use(d) are courtesy of this site.  There are quite a few there, and they’re pretty useful if you like to use those in your conversations :x  (Maybe it’s an Asian thing, though.)  I also like to get emoticons from anikaos and neskaya.

Oh, if you were wondering what we were saying, here’s a brief translation:

We say hi.

D asks me if I’m drinking something warm, and I say yes.  I ask him if he is drinking tea, and he says no.

I ask him if he ate, and he says yes.  He asks me if I ate, and I say yes.  He asks me if I’m full, and I say yes, I’m full.

He tells me he has to go to class now.

We say bye.

I’m sure there are lots of other ways to have non-conventional conversations :3  It’s kind of a challenge, don’t you think?  XD  But fun.  You should give it a try if you are ever bored~
